Rochester Esplanade and Guildhall Museum …

On Tuesday, KS1 went on a school trip to Rochester to visit Rochester Esplanade and the Guildhall Museum, to fit in with our topic of Land Ahoy.

When we first arrived at the Esplanade, we spent some time completing some observational drawings of the boats that we could see, where we really focused on the small details and even had a go at labelling. We spotted lots of boats and even a submarine. Mrs Worrall set us the challenge of trying to count how many boats we could see!

After that, we had a picnic lunch on the grass, before heading back to the Guildhall Museum. In there, there were lots of paintings and old models of boats. We also visited the model hulk ship, which we could walk inside of. As we walked around the model hulk ship we also completed a quiz sheet, to recall what we had seen and learnt. We found out lots about the men who lived there.

It was a lovely day and the weather was fantastic. Thank you very much to the adult helpers who helped us walk down to Rochester and back, we really appreciate it!!
